i had forgotten how great Better Call Saul is. watched the first two eps just now. gotta do this again.

so this weekend the apps will have new release versions at the app stores. minor bug fixes, and a new necessary feature, notifications. we kept them slim, only when a customer’s order is finished in the kitchen and headed to delivery/takeaway expo, and then also when a user/payfritter are in a chat, if a new message comes in and the chat is not focused, the user gets a notification. really cool how firebase integrates all this, it was exciting to get the feature worked out and shipped in less than 48 hours.

on the marketing front, have a new target first customer, a pizza restaurant. owner has had the intial intro to Payfrit, they need something to help them now. she asked about pricing which is a huge lever. once august is over and off season begins (or even prior to) i’ll have a meeting with her to demo the full Payfrit system, really blow her away. here’s the exchange that potentially tips it all into starting the avalanche:

  Payfrit doesn’t eliminate table service – it organizes it. Ordering goes directly where it needs to go, and things like running food, refills, extra sauces, bussing, or customer requests become clear tasks that can be handled by whoever is available.
  
  Everyone wins: customers get faster food and service, the whole flow is smoother, your staff spends less time checking tables that don’t need anything, and you’ll naturally end up saving a lot on front-of-house labor, probably around 40%.

within the next 12-18 months, you’re going to start to see a huge shift where the top 5-10% of coders (in literally any language or technology branch) will be managing an AI team of 8-10 agents.

conservatively this should reposition at least 25% of active high-paying coding jobs in the USA to minimum wage and/or gig work. incomes slashed by 80%.

getting launch versions of Payfrit primed and ready to include delivery. the trinity is almost ready for launch, dine-in, takeaway, delivery, one single order channel.

on the Works end of things, really coming up with some amazing integrations wearable beacon that will function like the down counter that football officials wear on their hand. so the KDS can tell who is loging actions based on the beacon on their wrist.

this morning for some reason i really got an itch to start jumping again. for some reason the memory of one of my cutaways came back to me and it’s a good life lesson.

it was april in ohio, first day open at aerohio. i was on the first run, a 182 that had to launch from a different paved airstrip since our grass runway was too muddy. cold af.

i had a lineover after i pulled on a hop and pop from 7000ft, i’m still amazed at how my muscle memory kicked in. i can remember hanging on the strut and the pilot trying to shake me off! what a blast.

coolest part is that they almost forced me to get on the next load, to get back on the horse after something like that. it was only my second season jumping and they didn’t want to lose me to fear. i took that next ride and had a blast doing a rare formation jump for me (i always preferred doing hop and ops at altitude), and then i made about 100 jumps during the next few months.
