i’m typing to a brick wall right now but someday this blog might actually have some traffic and maybe someone can help me understand better.
since i moved from the midwest to California i have learned a lot about racism, starting with dating a black girl about four years ago. now with the pilot pad located in Compton i’m learning even more.
i don’t understand why this is racist. i understand that it should be equated to using blackface, stereotyping a specific race/religion in a negative connotation. but to me it seems as though the people who made the float are calling out npd leader jagmeet singh, who is sikh. is it because the implication that all sikhs are bullshit-spreading liberals…? if he would have a sign on his neck with his name, would that have changed anything? or if his name were written on the side of the float?
